Coin hunting with the Equinox 800 & 15 inch coil
Quote from KcZiLlEsT_ReLicS on March 31, 2021, 5:31 amI’ve been hunting a local park with my Equinox 800 and the 15 inch coil and it’s been producing some deep coins! Today I hit 4 Indians and two ?’s ! All of the coins I dug on 3/30/21 was 8+ inches deep! For those who are wondering here’s my settings I run while coin hunting: First I noise cancel, Park 1, I use auto ground balance tracking (❤️ This option and I ALWAYS use it, let the machine work for you), sensitivity 23, recovery speed 5, F 5 iron bias, I always have the iron audio on cause I like to hear it all. I swing low and moderately slow. This I believe and come to find that it helps give the machine a chance to read and pick up deep targets, if I’ve swing fast in this area where I pulled the Indians and I believe that’s why i missed them the first time. This time I set out to go slower in this area because I found a merc and I felt like there was more, and there WAS! So swinging slower, using the 15 coil and also going in different directions helped me pull these coins out! The ONLY down side to this is that it’s not for the faint of arm /shoulder ? it dose make it heavier to swing no pain no gain tho! Although popping a 180s coin or silver rejuvenates the arm ? ! Hope this is helpful to you all and good luck ? hunting!

I cover a lot of area with it and even nailed a Barber dime where other detectorist have been with a Deus and Equinox 800 and the 11 inch coil and I managed to pull it. I’m thankful I’m in shape to be able to swing it for as long as I can lol. I do take precautions like stretching and I do wear a arm compression sleeve that helps I also have the lighter shaft Detect Ed’s that helps.
